,Job Title: Fine Watch Buyer
Reports to: SVP of Category Management, Watches
Division: Category Management/Merchandising
OVERVIEW
As a Buyer, you are a pivotal leader within the organization, driving the strategy, performance, and growth of the watch category. This role holds full accountability for the category’s success across the network, with a specific focus on a curated portfolio of brands.
You will be responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives, formulating action plans to enhance sales, and optimizing brand performance by brand and by location. Your role will include overseeing the full category lifecycle—from buying and assortment planning to budgeting, business reviews, and performance analytics.
With a profound understanding of the luxury market, evolving consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape, you will act as the primary point of contact for all brand-related discussions and projects. You will also be instrumental in fostering close cross-functional collaboration with key teams to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives.
We’re looking for a commercially minded leader who combines strategic vision with strong analytical rigor and an ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You must be a self-starter with deep expertise in buying and merchandising, capable of translating insights into actions and challenging existing norms to improve business outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assortment Strategy & Planning
· Lead the development of a compelling, data-driven assortment aligned with market trends and customer preferences.
· Optimize product mix by brand and location, ensuring profitability and strategic fit.
· Drive the business plan based on market insights and performance analytics.
Brand Ownership & Partner Management
· Serve as the lead contact for key watch brands, managing relationships, negotiations, and joint business planning.
· Define commercial terms, sales targets, and brand investments to maximize performance.
· Represent the company at industry events and conduct market visits to ensure brand consistency and alignment.
Merchandising & Buying
· Own the buying strategy across collections, managing the full product lifecycle.
· Align assortment decisions with brand DNA, financial goals, and evolving consumer demand.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive timely and successful launches.
Inventory & Performance Optimization
· Monitor inventory health, stock allocation, and KPIs to balance demand and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience in buying, merchandising, or category management, preferably in luxury or premium retail
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
· Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of translating data into commercial actions
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management across internal teams and brand partners
· Proficient in merchandising systems, order tools, and CRM platforms
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in managing multiple priorities
· Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
· Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, who thrives in a collaborative and cross-functional environment
SALARY: $85,000 - $95,0000
